#AssamFloods2016 Relief

The Northeastern state of India, Assam (and now Bihar as well!) has been hit hard by floods situation, which has affected more than 17 lakhs people with death toll 34, and nearly 12 lakhs animals, including submerging the Kaziranga National Park.

Jorhat, Golaghat, Darrang, Dhemaji, Bongaigaon, Lakhimpur, Goalpara, Sonitpur, Barpeta, Dhubri and Nagaon districts have been the worst-affected while farmers across 22 districts have incurred heavy losses in farming and poultry businesses. People in Assam need an urgent support and relief, while the Army was called upon for rescue operations. Nearly 463 relief camps have been setup already as the situation is evolving (July 31 report).
